Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the views of Sadd Al-Dzari'ah and Maqashid Al-Syari'ah on the phenomenon of waiting that is currently developing in Indonesia. The method used in this study uses empirical or field methods, with primary data obtained by interviewing waithood respondents. The result is that the waithood factor is due to mental readiness and career factors. Two out of three respondents stated that the factor that most influences and becomes their most consideration in postponing marriage is the factor of mental readiness. while one respondent who postponed marriage (waithood) stated that it was due to career factors. In the view of sadd al-dzari'ah someone who postpones marriage for certain reasons such as preparing himself as well as possible including mental and career readiness that affects economic well-being does not contradict sadd al-dzari'ah. A person's obligation to marry is adjusted to the person's spiritual, financial, physical and mental status. So the perpetrators of waithood that occur in middle-aged women do not conflict with Maqashid Al-Syaria. The benefit of this research is to have the opportunity to focus on preparing for mental maturity and can focus on improving your career as expected.
